| CIH/MCW EXCHANGE PROGRAM PREPARES SHANGHAI PHYSICIANS FOR 2010 WORLD EXPO November, 2007 Drs. Chen Miao, Yu Yang, Dai Lihua and Zhao Jie were hosted for a six-week training program by the Center for International Health and Medical College of Wisconsin as an extension of an ongoing partnership between the Center for International Health and Jiao Tong Medical University in Shanghai, China. The purpose of the program was to develop the capacity of the four visiting physicians to strengthen Shanghai's emergency medical systems in preparation for the 2010 World Expo. Designed to introduce Drs. Chen Miao, Yu Yang, Dai Lihua and Zhao Jie to academic emergency medicine and health care delivery systems in the U.S., with a special emphasis on the role of emergency medicine physician leadership and emergency medical systems development, the training program included attending faculty meetings, clinical observations, ride-alongs, tours and independent study at various departments of the Medical College of Wisconsin, Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, Froedtert Hospital and Milwaukee County. Upon completing the training program, the visiting physicians were poised to return home to assume leadership roles in four emerging hospital departments affiliated with Jiao Tong Medical University.
