FOX POINT MAN HONORED FOR CHARITABLE WORK

Dan Meehan, a Fox Point resident, w
as given the Republic of Georgia's Order of
Honor for his contributions to help fund the building of a family medicine clinic and
regional training center in the Mtskheta District of the Republic of Georgia.


The award was given by Tommy Thompson, former secretary of the Department of
Health and Human Services, and Ketevan Loria, a Georgian physician, at 11 a.m. at the
University Club of Milwaukee.


Meehan's contributions were part of a Primary Healthcare Development Partnership
carried out by the Center for International Health of Milwaukee.


The partnership was sponsored by the United States Agency for International
Development and the American International Health Alliance.


Meehan, founder of the Meehan Family Foundation, has been elected to the board of
World-SHARE and been active in the Federal Association of the Knights of Malta. He
also has done charitable work for Milwaukee's disabled, homeless, elderly and low-
income populations, including sponsoring more than 50 four-year academic
scholarships.
